A Cocktail for the Derby

Today the fillies are racing at Churchill Downs. The Oaks is a great day of racing and a warm up for the grand social event of tomorrow, The Kentucky Derby.

In celebration of the races, I would like to share with you The Oaks signature drink,

The Pink Lily

2 cups Grapefruit Juice

2 cups Pineapple Juice

1 1/2 cup White Rum

1 cup chilled Club Soda

Splash of Grenadine

In a pitcher, combine juices and rum. Cover and refrigerate until chilled, about 2 hours. Stir well and pour into ice-filled martini glasses. Top with club soda and grenadine.

Drink up and enjoy some southern hospitality.

Yum!!! That'll brighten even the dreariest of days, as it's pouring rain here.

I don't care for the Mint Julep either but the Pink Lily is divine. It's light and sophisticated. Fabulous!!!
I encourage everyone to make some tonight...it's well worth the time and effort.

The pink lily sounds devine! I wish I wasnt on the road today so I could mix one up!
  • I love the Derby. We have family there and it's always a good time. I've never had the pink lily but I'm not a fan of the mint julep.
